What camera accessories can I get for my canon A590? Special lenses or stuff (I have a pouch and tripod) xD? What camera accessories can I get for my canon A590? Special lenses or stuff (I have a pouch and tripod) xD?
Petra_au replied: "I think you have all you need. You CAN buy a few add-ons such as a tele-converter, wide converter and close-up lens, but I wouldn't bother with them because they're generally crap and not going to improve on image quality or anything, especially with a point & shoot camera like the A590 IS.
Your camera has full manual controls (aperture & shutter priority modes), so all I recommend you do for now is learn about them and understand how to use them..."

What camera/accessories would I need for nature shots? For taking pictures of nature, is there a special kind of camera specially designed for those kind of shots? Would I need filters? Do I need a tripod?
If there are any other needed accessories, please list them as well. Thank you!
Iris R replied: "People use to use 4X5 field cameras before digital. I don't think that is the case anymore. You need a tripod, a polarizing filter and a lens shade. There are many fun filters you can try out for different effect. They are not must have but can be beneficial."
lab90210 replied: "a bean bag is very important. Ansel adams used polaroid 611. you'll use a digital camera and a bean bag to sit it on"
perki88 replied: "A good DSLR. Yes, you'll need a sturdy tripod, especially the type that goes flat to the ground.. Lenses from wide to strong telephoto. Filters such as polarizer and gradient neutral density. A cable release wouldn't hurt. Large media card to shoot raw.
Here's a site of a friend of mine who also leads tours to teach this tiborvari.com
Best of luck and enjoy!"
Vince M replied: "A telephoto lens is, virtually, essential.
A BIG lens can get you closer to a wild subject than you could physically do. Birds up a tree, a deer across the road, the meandering brook a hundred yards on the OTHER side of a fence, etc.
I used to take terrific pictures at the local road race tracks. From a vantage point fifteen yards away, with my 200mm lens, I could, just about, seem to be INSIDE the cockpit with the drivers."
Photo Girl replied: "Get a macro lens for close ups... use a tri-pod as often as you can to prevent camera shake."

Is there an quick-release ballhead pod accessory/unit that will attach to my old-school camera tripod? I have an old school tripod that I was given by my father. Rather than buy a brand new tri/monopod, I'd like to see if there is a ballhead accessory that I can buy that will allow me quick-release from my existing pod. Can you provide brand and model number please?
Thanks in advance!
Ben H replied: "Pay a visit to . They sell Arca-Swiss compatible equipment, which is the professional standard for tripod quick release fittings.
You can also purchase Bogen-Manfrotto style hexagonal quick release holder and plate for about $30 from B&H Photo or Adorama. Additional QR plates are, as I recall, around $10-15 each. They're not quite as nicely made as the RRS or Arca-Swiss plates, but they're quite a bit less expensive."
Where can I buy reasonably priced camera accessories in Montreal? Hey everyone,
I'm in the city on vacation and I'm looking for a tripod and a usb cable for my sony camera.
If you could please tell me which metro stop the store is nearest to, that would be very helpful too.
Thanks very much!
TheBeerBaron replied: "I don't know if your looking for a futureshop or a specialty camera store.
There is a specialty one in the St. Hubert Plaza, Get off at metro Beaubien and head towards St. Hubert st and make a right in the outdoor plaza (heading south) then it will be the last store on your left, its pretty big.
Theres a futureshop downtown on St. Catherines between bleury st and university st. metro McGill or Place des Arts
Theres another one in the Pepsi Forum at metro Atwater."

Camera accessories? I have been given 50 dollars to spend in a certain store.
I own a Canon PowerShot S5IS
I don't know what to buy, though. I've been thinking a Tripod would be a useful thing. However, I do not know what would be the best Tripod, or if you can buy them for 50 dollars.
Can someone help me?
Cath replied: "Oh sure you can get a tripod for as little as 10 dollars. Get a very light one, realize you will carry it with you. You don't have to spend big money, they all serve its single purpose, they hold the camera! There is plenty of stuff with photography that will take big money, trust me, its not a tripod. Go to walmart!"
Edwin replied: "Buy a circular polarizer and a Haze or Skylight filter and the accessory adapter you need to mount them. Leave the Haze or Skylight filter on all the time, only removing it to use the polarizer.
$50.00 isn't enough for a decent tripod."
Jim M replied: "Velbon makes some nice, light ones for less than $50.
i use mine with my S3is."
Vince M replied: "I'd opt for an extra memory flash card.
I hate being caught, out in the field with a full memory card! I took a road trip to Chicago and back to the San Francisco Bay Area, a few years ago, and found myslef running out of space. Back then, flash cards were EXPENSIVE, so a new one was NOT in my budget. There I was, about to cross the Rocky Mountains, and then into Utah, painfully deleting my more marginal shots to make room for more.
Until they make a portable USB flash drive that hooks directly to my cameras, I, now, ALWAYS carry extra memory cards."
Fotoman replied: "I think it depends on the type of shooting you are going to do.
Polarizer is great for lanscapes and outdoor shots, a tripod for low light photography.
I use a small travel tripod that would work great with your camera. I wrote an article about it on my blog at.
I would also consider another set of rechargeable batteries, a nice case if you don't already have one, the wide angle converter so you can take wider angle shots (I think this is more than $50 though), and / or invest it in some software for your computer. Like a photo editing , noise reduction, panorama stitching program, or a cataloging program to keep track and enable you to find all the photos you are taking.
Happy Shooting!
Bill"

-Body...
-Lens
-Neck strap
-Tripod
-Battery and its charger
-USB Chord
-Lens cover
-Case
Anything else im forgetting that i need?
Or is there anything that u guys recommend me to get?
Thank you =)
Lost in translation replied: "1. UV lens filter
2. lens cap holder
3. memory card
4. 55mm prime lens(will cost more than 100 $, but will take amazing portraits pics)
5. nikon remote (10 bucks)"
fhotoace replied: "This is what comes with the camera.
EN-EL3 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery
MH-18 Quick Charger
EG-D2 Audio Video Cable
UC-E4 USB Cable
AN-DC1 Strap
BF-1A Body cap
DK-5 Eyepiece Cap
DK-21 Rubber Eyecup
BM-7 LCD monitor cover
Accessory shoe cover
Software Suite CD-ROM
Depending upon which lens you get (AF-S 18-55 mm ED or II), it comes with
Front lens cap
Rear lens cap
You will need to buy a UV filter for the lens and some memory cards. That will get you started. If you plan on taking long exposures using the bulb setting on your camera to shoot star or light trails, you will need the Nikon ML-L3 Wireless remote
Oh, and a computer to store you images on and some kind of advanced photo program like Lightroom or Photoshop"
DSLR camera accessories question? Hello.
I have been shooting more and more with a tripod as of late, as I inherited my father's old Slik. Whenever I'm doing tripod shots for an extended period of time, I can't help but notice that the neck strap can get in the way and taking it off is no real breeze. When I opt to shoot outdoors, unless my camera is set high, my neck strap will find its way into a puddle of mud or a small sea of morning dew. Not really too much of a big deal, but it can be a pain.
It's my senior year in high school, and as an independent computers course, I'm doing some things with photoshop and digital portrait photography. I'll be using a tripod a lot more consistently.
Is there any way I can easily attach/detach my neck strap from the camera body? I noticed that the D200 seems to have clips that allow for this sort of thing. Is there something similar I can find, or is there nothing to do short of simply putting it on and taking it off every single time?
Answers appreciated, thanks in advance!

Has anyone gotten accessories for a Canon Powershot SD880? I am about to get mine repaired (it fell) And I am thinking of getting things like a Remote, a tripod, and other accessories. The camera link is here, if you were wondering,http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=145&modelid=17626
zqert988 replied: "I have the 850is, nice camera's these canons are for what they do. A tripod would be nice and a remote would be handy to have too. Can't go wrong there."
Petra_au replied: "A remote control for the SD880 IS? That's not possible, because it doesn't have a remote sensor. But, you can use the Self-timer..."
